This device is so simple to use/install, but works so good you'll wonder why it wasn't invented sooner. It only takes seconds to set-up or takedown and securely holds your DVD player with minimal `wiggle' (hooks on both sides secure to the headrest supports and a Velcro and bungee strap hold the DVD player to the pad). We recently used it on a 2,500 mile round trip and it performed without flaw or difficulty.
I bought this item hoping to use it on a long trip. The problem was that it couldn't hold the player level and steady between the two fron seats, especially if the front seats were adjusted and were different heights. It just didn't function well enough to watch movies.
The one online saved me around $10 and is really the same product. This is the second time I have bought this product. The first one was from Best Buy and this one online so we could have one in each car. The product has worked well and it arrived within a few days. Overall very happy with the product and the company.
The idea is great but the flimsiness of the unit made in unusable for us. On top of that, when it does manage to work as intended without falling, the motion of the car causes the dvd play to rotate forward and backwards getting stuck at odd viewing angles.
I'm not sure if I got the only one that was junk, but this thing did not work for me. I bought this because it had relatively good reviews.
I think we made it 15 minutes once. The hooks that attach to the headrest pulled out of the support bar causing the entire mount (along with a $250 dvd player) to crash to the ground.
So everytime I've used the thing it has crashed to the ground after a several minutes of driving. Might work okay on long flat stretch of highway like in Kansas or somewhere, but not ideal hills or turns.
Very disappointed.
This car mount was a life saver driving across country with a 20 month old in the back. It's easy to set up and held the dvd player in place. I would definately recommend this one.
